Land Ownership
FAQ’s
Is the land really mine?
The purchase of individual plots of land on our conservancies is in the form of a symbolic purchase and does not grant the purchaser with the freehold title. However, each plot is individually assigned and all benefits, including any prize winnings are solely granted to the plot owner.
How much does it cost to buy a piece of land?
It only costs ten Pounds, Dollars, or Euro’s to secure your own piece of land. You choose the currency you wish to use when making your first purchase on the website. This will then be your currency for any subsequent purchases of land, or merchandise from our online shop. *See below for more information about how long you own the land.
How long do I own my piece of land?
The initial term of ownership is for 2 years, however, you may extend this period to a maximum of 10 years. We hope you decide to continue supporting the conservancy. If you do renew your sponsorship, as a thank you for your continued support, you will receive additional years FREE. The Trust will grant additional periods of ownership, on the following basis.
EXAMPLE:
Initial sponsorship – £10 gives you 2 years ownership
Year 3 – Sponsorship renewal cost £10 - Year 4 & 5 FREE
Year 6 – Sponsorship renewal cost £10 - Year 7-10 FREE
Total cost for a period of 10 years = £30
We will notify you before your ownership period comes to an end, to give you the opportunity of renewing. There is no obligation to renew or extend ownership after the first two years. We hope, however, that you decide to continue supporting the project for the maximum 10 years, to allow us to develop the conservancy and safeguard its future.

If you are one of the lucky winners of any of the prizes, you will be notified immediately of your prize value. You can then decide how you wish to receive your prize.

Yes – provided this is to a family member, child, etc. You just need to inform us of the changes, and for a small charge we can re-issue the ownership certificate for your particular plot.
Can I sell my piece(s) of land to a third party?
No – unfortunately you can only pass on the land to a relative, as outlined above. This is to avoid anyone buying up multiple plots, with the intention of selling them on at a profit, as their symbolic value may well rise in the future.
Can I visit the land?
Yes, you can. However unaccompanied and unarranged visits are not allowed. After all, this is a natural wildlife conservancy, with wild animals roaming free on all parts of the conservancy. All applications to visit the conservancy must be arranged through The Trust.
Please note that the land has not been developed in any way and will always be maintained as a natural environment. - individual plots are not marked out (because that would spoil the area.
Note. Owners wising to visit the conservancy, as part of an eco safari holiday, are entitled to a discount against the total holiday price, providing the stay is for a minimum 2 nights.
