Walk 2 Live ™
The charity's biggest annual event takes place each May. The Walk 2 Live campaign aims to create the largest mass sponsored walk in the world and is being organised to raise money for wildlife conservation. The walk has been created especially for schools, although parents and adults are more than welcome to join in.
The next event will be taking place on Friday May 20th 2011, with tens of thousands of people from all over the UK all walking at the same time, at schools and other locations around the country, in an attempt to create a new Guinness World Record™.
Walk 2 Live 2010
This year's walk has just taken place. The event was a huge success, made even better by the perfect weather on the day. A huge thank you to all teachers who organised their school walks.
It looks like everyone had a great afternoon, walking through some stunning countryside while helping to raise vital funds to help us protect endangered wildlife around the world.

'Here are some words which the walk conjured up for our juniors: energetic, exciting, enjoyable, fun, fantastic, stunning, bright, so green, birds singing, cheerful, happy, bluebells, cows, sunny, hot, scorching, calm.
We all had a lovely afternoon made even better that we were doing it for a good cause.'

'On Friday we walked around the school as many times as we could to raise some money for the animals and their homes. We raised the money for the animals so their homes could get better because their homes were getting ruined.' Hajrah Hafeez.
'When we did the walk we had a pit stop with our water bottles on a table. We all wore a piece of ribbon which had a square with 20 little squares. After each lap the teacher put a mark in one of our squares.' Tia Hussain.

Want to take part in next year's event?
The rules for the walk are simple. All participants must be walking at the same time and on the same day in order to create an official Guinness™ World Record. The walk begins at 2pm and although there is no specific distance or time limit, the key to the event's success is that everyone taking part is walking at the same time. Along with supporting a good cause, the walk aims to promote exercise and will encourage children to become more active, reinforcing the message that walking is good for you. Most schools will be hold their own event and children will either be walking around their own school grounds, or for some, around their village or town. It is hoped that other organisations will join in and other, larger venues will be included, where several schools or other groups can also take part in the walk. Each school/group will co-ordinate their own event and verify the number of participants taking part.

Unlike other sponsored walks, schools have the option of selecting where some of the money they raise goes. Schools can even use the event to raise money for their own use, maybe for computer or sports equipment, or possibly even to help with raising money to build additional classrooms, or extra facilities.
The walk is easy to organise and is great fun for all those taking part. Being part of a genuine World Record attempt, walking for the benefit of endangered wildlife and raising money for a worthwhile cause, guarantee this will be a most enjoyable and exciting day.
