Welcome to Jakarna Wildlife Trust

Welcome to Jakarna Wildlife TrustWe are a recently formed charitable organisation, set up to secure the protection and preservation of vital areas of wildlife habitat and conservation land of global importance. In conjunction with international wildlife charities, we aim to support a worldwide initiative to rescue vital areas of land from destruction and human misuse and to promote wildlife conservation.

Our ethos is simple; protect the rich diversity of the natural world, for the benefit of all mankind.

So how are we going to save these areas? And how are we going to save our planet's amazing wildlife from extinction?

Because we are different. It's YOU who will shape the charity and the way we operate. It's YOU who will drive our campaign and ensure these vital areas of land are protected for the benefit of future generations.

We want you to get involved. We want you to learn about conservation and help us to demonstrate the benefits of protecting these incredible places. Every bit of land that we secure will be available for adoption. Only our supporters will ever be able to visit our wildlife conservancies and see some of the world's most magnificent animals, in their natural environment. . . . . . . And for some, it will change their life, forever!

It's not too late to act, but time is running out. Please support our first project in Eastern Kenya, where we need to raise £500,000 to save almost 100,000 acres of wildlife habitat. This incredible land should be rich in wildlife but is now on the brink of environmental collapse. The land is situated in an area of global importance and is home to some amazing wildlife, including elephant, lion, leopard and Giraffe. The area is littered with crude snares and many animals suffer a horrific and painful death. The money we raise will be used to reclaim the land and to train wildlife rangers who will be employed to patrol the area and protect and safeguard its' future. Man's legacy

4.5 billion years in the making and less than 10,000 years of man's determination to conquer, has all but destroyed the very heart of our planet. Put another way, modern man has been around for a tiny fraction of the earth's existence, around five hundred thousandth of the time our planet has been evolving.

Imagine the length of time the earth has been evolving (4.5 billion years,) represents 24 hours on a clock, then modern man has been around for less than 1 second. Then imagine that same analysis applies to the rate at which we are destroying our natural habitat today, pushing many animal species to the brink of extinction. For if that same 24 hours represents the last 10,000 years, then in the last 2 minutes (about the time it has taken for you to read this short piece,) we have destroyed or taken more land from those animals who share our planet, than in the past 23 hours and 58 minutes. Frightening isn't it? And don't forget, those animals have been around for not only the last 10,000 years, but for many more thousands of years. The land is not ours to take!

We can't save the world but if we can save a small part of it from man's destruction, we can help save a huge slice of the world's endangered animal population. What if we can save that same fraction - one five hundred thousandth? That may not sound a lot, but a handful of carefully managed, truly protected areas around the globe, will ensure the safety and peaceful existence of many of the world's rarest species of animals and birds.

Our aim is to set up 5 sanctuaries around the world, in key environmental areas. These areas exist today, but they need your help to protect them from destruction and ensure their continued survival.

Please support our first project - ‘Project Taita - Kenya'. Adopt your own piece of land in Kenya TODAY for just £10 and help save some of the world's most endangered animals.
